How long do I have to complete the certificate?
You have up to six months from the time you register to complete all courses in your chosen learning path. This flexible timeline allows you to balance your studies with business responsibilities.
Can I take individual courses instead of the full certificate?
Yes! While the certificate offers the best value with a 20% discount, you can register in individual courses for $250 each if you prefer to focus on specific areas.
What is a digital credential, and how can I use it?
For each course you complete you'll earn a digital micro-credential badge through MyCreds, a trusted digital credentialing platform. After completing all five courses, you'll receive a Professional Development Certificate from MacEwan University. You can showcase these credentials on LinkedIn, your website, a resume, or other professional platforms to demonstrate your expertise.
How are the courses delivered?
All courses are delivered online asynchronously, meaning you can access the materials and complete assignments anytime, anywhere.
What if I'm not tech-savvy?
Our courses are designed with user-friendly platforms and technical support is available if needed. The focus is on practical business applications rather than using complex technology.
Can I start anytime?
Yes! Our flexible enrolment allows you to begin your learning journey whenever you're ready. There's no need to wait for a specific semester or start date.
What types of businesses is this program designed for?
This program is specifically designed for local, traditional businesses such as retail shops, professional services, trades and food services. While the principles can apply broadly, the content is not focused on tech startups or digital-only businesses.
How much time should I expect to spend on coursework?
While the time commitment varies by individual, most students spend 3-5 hours per week on coursework. The flexible format allows you to set your own pace.
What do I do if I am not satisfied with my purchase?
The Entrepreneur Fundamentals certificate will be made available April 14, 2025. You have until April 9, 2025 to contact SCE to cancel your enrolment and receive a refund. Any purchases made after April 9, 2025 are not eligible for refund. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact businessconed@macewan.ca prior to enroling.
